Building Hope in Minnesota: Support a Ukrainian Refugee Family
Today, we'd like to introduce you to a courageous Ukrainian refugee family who are coming to the Twin Cities in search of safety and a fresh start. They will soon call Minnesota their new home, and they need your support to build a stable and welcoming life here.
This is the 4th family the sponsorship team has helped with the transition to the Twin Cities. The goal is to help get the family set up for the first 3-4 months of life in Minnesota.
Meet the Oreshkins
Vladimir (age 41), Inna (age 39) and their two children Nikita (age 14) and Bogdan (age 11) are from the Donetsk region in Ukraine, which was overrun in 2022 by Russian troops. In February 2022, after the invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine, they were forced to leave their home in the Donetsk region, moving to the city of Dnipro. The family is currently living in Kyiv and will be arriving on October 5th, 2023.
How You Can Help

Your donation will go towards essential expenses like first month's rent, deposit, transportation, food, clothing, household goods and the like.
- Donate Gently Used Items: By giving items like furniture, appliances, and kitchenware, you can play a pivotal role in creating a comfortable and welcoming home for families who are starting anew or facing hardship.
- Donate New Items Directly to the Oreshkins: With just a few clicks, you can pick an item from their household wishlist. Easy and quick! These items will help make their house a home and support them in the first few months.
